One of the enjoyable challenges of writing Otherworld Bound was deciding how closely to follow actual science and where to let imagination take over. I spent years working in technical writing and had a genuine interest in electronics and physics long before the book was a project. Some of what Greg Cordell works with in the laboratory has a real foundation. Other parts are the product of asking: what if we pushed this idea just a little further than the current research allows? That space between known and possible is where science fiction lives.
